Honorees to be celebrated on November 13, 2020, using virtual presentationThe Morgan Hill Community Foundation (MHCF) has conducted a celebration of philanthropy for the Greater Morgan Hill Area dating back to 2005. This annual event provides recognition to individuals who have been nominated by their non-profit organizations for impact on people and non-profits in our local community. Philanthropy Night is geared towards recognizing the good work of local volunteers and philanthropists who embody the “Give Where You Live” spirit. MHCF plans to continue this important tradition and will conduct a virtual event in 2020. This year’s event will include both live discussion and presentation as well as pre-recorded segments to ensure that the program is fast-paced and enjoyable for participants and viewers. Focus will be placed on the stories and actions of the nominees who do heartfelt work supporting people in the greater Morgan Hill Area. The Master of Ceremonies will be Jona Denz-Hamilton, 94.5 Bay FM Air Radio Personality and long time MC of the MHCF philanthropy event. Local non-profit organizations who wish to participate in the event to recognize and honor someone may do so by filling out our nomination form here. A Unique, Free Virtual Event with a Take-Out Dinner Option“In order to celebrate the nominees and to have as many of their family, friends, and community observe the program, our board will provide free attendance to this virtual event. We will also have the option for attendees to purchase a ticket which will provide for a take-out dinner at a local restaurant and a packet specially prepared for this event. A donation will be made to the MHCF Disaster Relief Fund for each ticket purchased to support local non-profit response to COVID-19. I am hopeful that with these two options, we will encourage broad viewer participation and provide a fun alternative for a unique dinner, event packet, and support to the disaster relief fund.” said Steve Cox, MHCF Board Member. The MHCF is currently accepting philanthropy nominations from Non-Profits in the Greater Morgan Hill Area. The event will be accessible through multiple media platforms, which will be listed on our website prior to the event. The virtual presentation will start promptly at 7:00 PM and will conclude by 8:30 PM on November, 13, 2020. The impacts of COVID-19 on our community have been great, and MHCF has granted approximately $48,000 this year for local non-profits to help those in need with meals, rent assistance, and a variety of social programs. In addition, MHCF has worked with the MHUSD and YMCA to help offset approximately $34,000 in tuition for essential workers' child care. Thank You to Our Sponsors“We are very appreciative of sponsors for this year’s Philanthropy Awards Event, whose donations enable MHCF to provide grants to Non-Profit organizations supporting our community. Through sponsorships, individual donations, and the work of philanthropists, people in the Morgan Hill Area are working to make a difference in our community,” said Bob Lipscomb, MHCF Vice President. To date, there are sixteen individuals and organizations that have contributed from $500 to $5,000 in support of philanthropy night. Sponsors and Donors include; Save the Date.
