Our Role as a Fiscal Sponsor
The Morgan Hill Community Foundation (MHCF) is a 501(c)3 charitable organization with a proud track record of giving that connects donors with local needs for a lasting impact on the quality of life in our community.
Funded solely through local contributions, our all-volunteer organization encourages a “Give Where You Live” philosophy through a variety of philanthropic and community investment strategies. The MHCF also plays a pivotal role in supporting the success of local groups by serving as a non-profit fiscal sponsor, making it possible for them to conduct day-to-day operations within our non-profit business platform.
What is a Non-Profit Fiscal Sponsorship?
A fiscal sponsorship is the practice of a lead non-profit providing legal and tax-exempt status to another community group that is aligned with the lead non-profit organization’s mission and focused areas of giving. This is a service the Morgan Hill Community Foundation provides to a range of partners for a nominal fee.
Our MHCF Partners
Each of the MHCF’s partners has its own charitable goals, annual events, and pool of volunteers to help it serve the community. They are diving into their passions to make a difference with the knowledge that all non-profit fiscal responsibilities are expertly managed under the auspices of the MHCF’s leadership, such as insurance coverage, licensing, tax preparation and reporting, banking, state and federal filing fees, etc.
