Rob Christopher is a “recovering” commercial litigation attorney and businessman. He and his family have long-standing civic and business connections to the South Valley and Morgan Hill.
Rob’s grandparents, Lee and Frances Buchheister, moved to Morgan Hill in the 1930s. His parents went to school and met at the original Live Oak High School, graduating in 1951. His Dad founded Christopher Ranch in Gilroy two years later and resides in San Martin today. Rob and his wife Ginny moved from Los Angeles back to Morgan Hill in 1986 where they raised their two sons, Jason and Tad, who both graduated from Live Oak High School in the 1990s, and now have returned to Morgan Hill to start their own families. Rob’s and Ginny’s three glorious toddler grandchildren therefore represent the fifth generation of local family history.
Rob’s legal career took him from the role of litigation associate in Los Angeles for six years to a major New York based international law firm for 19 years where he became a partner, and later regional managing partner for Northern California. In 2006, he became Of Counsel to San Jose's Hopkins & Carley, enabling him to continue practicing law while he developed and later founded Just Resolve, an innovative new forum for affordable dispute resolution. A co-owner of Christopher Ranch since the early 1980s, he has since become General Counsel and a member of the still-family-owned company’s board of directors.
Rob's current non-profit community involvement outside of MHCF includes service as a board member and past president of South Valley Civic Theatre, annual Gourmet Alley volunteer to the Gilroy Garlic Festival, and supporter of his wife, Ginny, in her annual work for Community Solutions' Holiday Gift-Giving Program.
Rob earned his BA with Honors in Economics at Stanford University and his JD at the University of California at Davis.
