DOWNTOWN MORGAN HILL GATEWAY ARCH
For more than 40 years, Downtown Morgan Hill entryway signage has been envisioned in multiple City Downtown Plans, though infrastructure and funding constraints delayed implementation. In January 2025, the DMHID Board of Directors voted to evaluate the feasibility and cost of constructing a gateway arch. Following several design iterations, the Board approved a timeless concept by E2 Architects that reflects the character of Morgan Hill without focusing on any one era — past, present, or future. As the Downtown District continues to evolve, the gateway arch will serve as a landmark identifying the original historic area.
Location
The Gateway Arch will be located at the intersection of Monterey Road and Main Avenue in Downtown Morgan Hill.
Design
The design of the Gateway Arch is meant to be timeless and immediately identifiable of Morgan Hill via the El Toro Mountain silhouette.
COST
The anticipated cost of the gateway arch project is $475,000. The DMHID Board has committed to fund $250,000 of the project cost, with the intention to fundraise the remaining cost.
