The
Morgan Hill Community Foundation (MHCF) is a tax-exempt public charity
focused on improving the quality of life in the greater Morgan Hill
region as defined by the Morgan
Hill Unified School District boundaries. We accomplish this by
furthering a culture of giving to address community needs and identifying
and acquiring resources that provide support to nonprofit groups and
programs.
We
believe that collectively through the generosity of our donors and
the Foundation’s stewardship, we can affect positive change,
create opportunities, enrich lives, and secure a strong and healthy
future for our community and its residents.
What
specific needs does the foundation target?
In
order to meet the breadth of community needs, the MHCF has six funding
areas: Arts & Culture, Recreation, Education & Livelong Learning,
Health & Human Services, Science & Technology, Environment
& Agriculture. We have an annual discretionary grants process
(Grant
Process Spring 2010)
that awards grants to local non-profit organizations and programs.
We also will work with donors on an individual basis to assist in
philanthropic choices and community investment strategies.
How can I give to the foundation and support
programs in my community?
The
Foundation has established several donor
options to meet philanthropic goals. These programs offer flexibility
to address a specific area of interest, or the option of relying on
the Foundation’s stewardship to effectively meet the needs of
greater Morgan Hill region.
The
Foundation is an umbrella organization which supports small nonprofit
groups that focus on delivery of services through our Fiscal
Alliance Program.
Donations
are accepted in cash, marketable securities, life insurance, real
estate, foundation/corporate grants and goods and services.
How
can I be assured my gift will make a difference?
The
MHCF is an affiliate member of Community Foundation Silicon Valley,
a 50-year-old institution with assets of over $500 million. Professional
investors safeguard your investments and guarantee your gift will
have the maximum impact. To date, the Foundation has awarded 35 grants
to 28 local organizations. (See past grant recipients)
